Why would the Republicans spend a whole night of their convention attacking ordinary people? With the nation watching, the Republicans mocked, dismissed, and actually laughed out loud at Americans who engage in community service and organizing. Our convention was different. We gave the stage to everyday Americans who hunger for change and stepped up to make phone calls, knock on doors, and raise money in small amounts in their communities. You may have missed it, but we also showed the country a video with the faces and voices of those organizers, volunteers, and donors from every corner of the country. Watch the video and make a donation of $5 or more now to show that in this election, ordinary people will make their voices heard.
https://donate.barackobama.com/changevideoWhat you didn't hear from the Republicans at their convention is a single new idea about how to make the healthcare system work, get our economy moving for the middle class, or improve education. Just attacks -- on me, and on you. But what the McCain attack squad doesn't understand is that people like you -- who devote part of their busy lives to organizing and building their communities -- have the power to change this country. With your help, that's exactly what we're going to do.
Thank you,
Barack

Over the last week this race has been transformed. Barack named Joe Biden as his running mate, and they accepted the Democratic nomination at our historic open convention in Denver. Our team is complete, and our movement is growing rapidly. But now we are facing our first major challenge together. The August financial reporting deadline is tomorrow at midnight, and we have an opportunity to show that a campaign funded by ordinary people can go toe-to-toe with the Washington lobbyists and special interests lined up behind John McCain and the Republican Party. Make a donation of $5 or more before midnight tomorrow, and you'll receive a first edition Obama-Biden bumper sticker.

Thanks,

Obama for America

P.S. -- The deadline is midnight tomorrow, August 31st. Make your online donation now: http://my.barackobama.com/page/m/69db00cd6bb91a56/ufqlfo/VEsF/

This night could not have happened 40 years ago -- or even 4 years ago. And it could not have happened without you. You believed, against the odds, that change was possible. I felt your passion here tonight, and I know it was shared by millions of Americans who are building this movement all across the country. Tonight is your night. But tonight is just the beginning. The general election is going to be faster and tougher than anything we've faced so far. And our opponents will do everything they can to tear us down. I need your support more than ever. Make a donation of $25 or more right now: https://donate.barackobama.com/thebeginning Our party is united. Our purpose is clear. And our goal is in sight.
Thank you for everything you've done,
Barack

A few hours ago John McCain, the same man who just months ago promised to run a "respectful campaign," said he is "proud" of his latest attack ad. That's the one attacking your enthusiasm, comparing me to Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, and making false claims about my energy plan. Now, we're facing some serious challenges in this country -- our economy is struggling, energy costs are skyrocketing, and families don't have health care. Given the seriousness of these issues, you'd think we'd be having a serious debate. But instead, John McCain is running an expensive, negative campaign against us. Each day brings a desperate new set of attacks. And they're not just attacking me. They're attacking you. They're mocking the desire of millions of Americans to step up and take ownership of the political process. They're trying to convince you that your enthusiasm won't amount to anything -- that the people you persuade, the phone calls you make, the donations you give, the doors you knock on are all an illusion. They believe that in this election the same old smears and negative attacks will prevail again. They're wrong. And right now, we have a few hours left to prove them wrong in a very concrete way. Make a donation of $5 or more before the July fundraising deadline at midnight tonight. Show the strength of our movement for change.
Thank you,
Barack

Tomorrow is the financial reporting deadline for July. Once again, everyone will be sizing up this campaign to see if we can compete with John McCain and the Republican National Committee. Your hard work and generosity have gotten us this far, but the fact remains, our opponents still have a big fundraising advantage. They are very good at raking in huge donations, especially from Washington lobbyists and special interest PACs. That's why we need to show the strength of our grassroots movement before tomorrow's deadline. Help prove that a campaign powered by people like you, giving only what they can afford, can go toe-to-toe with the Republican fundraising machine. Make a donation of $5 or more to support this movement for change:
http://my.barackobama.com/page/m/6386e1ee50b1c39f/x3YLla/VEsE/As you've probably heard, if you make a donation before tomorrow at midnight, you could join me at the Democratic National Convention in Denver. This year, we're opening up the convention the way supporters like you have opened up the political process all across the country. On the last day, more than 75,000 people will come together to be a part of history -- folks like you who have been building this movement from the bottom up. It will be an incredible event, and if you make a donation in any amount before tomorrow's deadline, you and a guest could travel to Denver, spend a couple of nights at a hotel, and join me backstage before I accept the nomination. Please make a donation of $5 or more now. I'm looking forward to seeing you soon: http://my.barackobama.com/page/m/6386e1ee50b1c39f/x3YLla/VEsF/
